In and around Binsted Woods you will find majestic oaks, spring flowers such as primrose, bluebell, violet early purple orchids, wood anemones and wood sorrel, and even a few daffodils and snakeshead fritillaries, with arable wildflowers such as cornflowers in the fields beyond.
Old lane verges have plants scarce in the area such as Lathyrus linifolius and rare sedges. There are even small patches of heathland flora. Not only is our consultant ecologist Jackie Thompson is herself a botanist, but we have been greatly helped by local friends from the Sussex Botanical Recording Society who have already contributed many records of plant life in the area.
